ME & MY FIRST LOVE
I am a Soulaani woman, mother of two beautiful souls, and have been nurturing families through the sacred cycle of pregnancy, birth, and early parenthood for over eight years.
People describe me as bright, warm, and easy to talk to. I love exchanging ideas and tend to think outside the box and walk unconventional paths.
MY PRACTICE
I’ve been blessed to train under Black midwives and birth workers. They are my community and family, the people I go to when I need nurturing.
Over the years, I’ve hosted support groups and healing circles. I’ve served on boards as well as co-founded a local birth worker collective.
Today, I specialize in lactation support—my first love—and consider myself a lactation-doula. I practice almost exclusively in hospitals, but have expanded to home and birth center work.
MY VALUES
I value matriarchy. Matriarchy centers people, not profit. It honors human biology, spirit, and mother nature. It seeks to ensure all are served, and served well.
I value family. Families are the blueprint of society. When families are suffering so is society... but when they are well, communities thrive.
I also value unconventional families. Sometimes families are like a mixed up box of crayons, they only seem out of place until you see the beautiful picture they've created. Other times, family aren't relatives, they're the special people we've met along the way.
